Testing the Tantus DJ in an environment to see how the animation holds up, still needs some tweaking and the background is only a placeholder currently.
DJ and background are on seperate 16 colour palletes currently; final environment will fit to a 32x32 tileset and everything will be scaled up to 64x64.
Thanks! Yeah, the walk and jump seem a little awkward at the moment, I've been slowly working on improving it; nothing to show yet though. I do want a walk cycle though, along with running and all the other common animation cycles from a 2D adventure/action game, just needs tweaking until it looks right.
Just a couple of critiques here: The walk cycle is great, but for some reason seems a little rigid in this. Another thing is that I think the ditch should be a bit more prominent.
I agree about the walk cycle, was trying to avoid the feet having a sliding appearance as he walks, which gives it the somewhat rigid appearance, need to play around with it some more to settle on a good balance.
As for the ditch, I didn't really intend to have him jumping over anything specific at all, just wanted the jump somewhere in there. There's a flaming barrel there in the background which lost all detail when lowering the colour pallete, and what appears to be the ditch is the shadow of the barrel, I can see what you mean though and I think I will make it a ditch in a later version if one is made with this background again.
but i don't know .. A run would fit more ,the walk seems a bit odd .

Other than that, I'm loving it!

Thanks again!
No problem.
